Meet the vendors: A Yarn Story

In our next vendor profile we're happy to introduce Carmen from A Yarn Story in Bath - a delightful shop that has only been part of the UK yarn-y scene for less than a year!

The Yarn in the City Pop-Up Marketplace will feature fabulous indie makers, dyers and designers from across the UK. Tell us about your company and specialty. What are you best known for?

A Yarn Story is all about hand dyed yarns and luxury fibres. We bring together a collection of amazing yarns from around the world, focusing on small, independent dyers and makers.

Space is at a premium in the Pop-Up Marketplace so we've asked vendors to bring their "best of the best" - what wares will you have to tempt visitors?

It's so hard to decide but I will definetely be bringing Hedgehog Fibres and Shibui Knits to the marketplace as well as a selection of the Sweet Georgia Yarns we stock such as the lush Trinity Worsted and Superwash DK. Some exclusive colourways will be on hand and I'm very proud to be introducing the UK to Townhouse Yarns at the market place. Townhouse is a new indie dyer from Ireland with a fabulous eye for color. Oh and there might be a couple of surprises too ;)

Can you tell us about the making/designing/collaborating/or other process involved in your business?

I love when I find someone to collaborate with that can make an idea I have come to fruition like the needle gauges I did with Designosaur earlier this year or the custom colourway Lioness Arts did for the shop.

What is your absolute favourite thing about running your business?

Helping customers choose colors for a project!

Tell us the funniest thing that has ever happened to you while you've been running your company, or while you've been at a yarn show or festival!

Ooh! Nothing yet that I can think of. Is that bad? Maybe it's because I'm still new? I'd love some funny stories though, so come tell me yours at the Pop-Up Marketplace!
