This year's GLYC takes place on 1st - 8th September, 2019!

This year’s edition of the Great London Yarn Crawl will take a different tactic: the week-long event will allow participants to choose their own routes and shop combinations, and to spread their visits over multiple days, extending the yarn-y celebration! The fantastic shops involved in this year’s GLYC have come up with some special offers and events for September, which you can find detailed below. 

Participants must present their GLYC passports to take advantage of any shop offers!

RAY STITCH

Ray Stitch will be offering 10% off for GLYC participants throughout the week (TBC).

SHARP WORKS

GLYC-ers will receive 10% off all purchases during the event, and several new patterns will be available with purchase. Sharp Works will also be running a lucky dip and offering discount vouchers for future use.

SLIPSTITCH LONDON

Our newest shop will be giving away tote bags to all Yarn Crawlers and offering 10% off of selected yarns throughout the week.

STAG & BOW

Date TBC: Dyeing workshop in the Stag & Bow studio.

20% off yarns, fabrics and haberdashery for all Yarn Crawlers.

TRIBE YARNS

Saturday, 7th September: Inter Knitty Express Tours - Guided tours of the East London Yarn Triangle (with Fabrications, Knit with Attitude and Wild & Woolly). This event requires a separate (free) booking. Book tours on the ELYT website here.

The first 50 Yarn Crawlers to visit the shop will receive an exclusive gift from Milli, and crawlers who get to Tribe early will be treated to a glass of Buck’s Fizz! They will also be offering a 10% discount on purchases throughout the event.

THE VILLAGE HABERDASHERY

Sunday, 1st September: Workshop with Qing Fibre, with proceeds to benefit Refuge.

Throughout the week, Yarn Crawlers will get 10% off and 10% to Refuge on all sales with your passport.

WILD & WOOLLY

Wednesday, 4th September: Blues Party: Indigo Dyeing Dip In - come try out indigo dyeing at the shop! More details available here.

FABRICATIONS

Friday, 6th September: Talk with Erika Knight on sustainable fibre, including a special project. Reserve your spot here.

HANDWEAVERS STUDIO & GALLERY

A 5% discount on yarns, fibre and drop spindles for GLYC participants with their passports.

IDA’S HOUSE

Sunday, 1st September: Ida’s House is opening between 10.00 and 4.00pm to get the this week long yarn party started! With a Trunk Show from the very talented @carolinegoddardknitter, with 12 of stunning hand knits by our favourite designers and some that yarn crawlers may not know: Astrid Trolland, Fiona Alice, Caitlin Hunter, Veronik Avery, Yuri Bright, Irene Lin, Junko Okamoto, Andrea Mowry to name a few – a great chance to try on something different and see these stunning designs knitted up! ‘

Wednesday, 3rd September: All-day Yarny Tea Party – tea and cake served all day, come and see all our samples and get your Passport stamped!

All Passport holders spending over£45 will receive their choice of Katrinkles Stitch Markers as a gift from us to say thank you!
