YARNPORIUM 2018 GENERAL INFO & FAQS

Welcome to Yarnporium 2018! This year's Yarnporium takes place on Friday and Saturday, November 2-3, 2018 at Central Hall Westminster, located in the heart of London. We are excited to have you join us to see some of the best independent makers and brands from across the UK!

We have put this section together to help you find all the general information about the show in one handy place. We will continue to update this page in the lead up to the Yarnporium this November.

SHOW LOCATION AND OPENING TIMES

Central Hall Westminster, Storey's Gate, Westminster, London SW1H 9NH

Friday 2 November: 10am - 6pm. Early morning workshop participants should present themselves to our info desk by 9:20am on Friday to be guided to their classes for 9:30am.

Saturday 3 November: 10am - 5pm for Marketplace ticket holders. Workshop participants and VIP ticket holders can access the Marketplace from 9am.

 

TRAVELING TO CENTRAL HALL WESTMINSTER

Getting to Central Hall Westminster could not be easier! The building is a stone’s throw from Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament, and is a short walk from multiple tube and train stations, and served by multiple bus routes.

By London Underground

Central Hall Westminster is within easy walking distance of three underground / tube stations:

  • Westminster station (Jubilee, Circle and District lines) - 3 minute walk

  • St James’ Park station (Circle and District lines) - 3 minute walk

  • Victoria station (Victoria, Circle and District lines) - 13 minute walk

You can also use the Transport for London website or Citymapper to help plan your journey on public transport within London.

By Rail

Central Hall Westminster is within easy walking distance of three mainline rail stations:

  • Victoria - 13 minute walk

  • Charing Cross - 14 minute walk

  • Waterloo - 18 minute walk

You can also visit the National Rail website for additional help on planning your journey to London by train.

By Bus

Central Hall Westminster is served by several bus routes, many of which pass right outside the building:

  • Buses 11, 24, 148 and 211 - pass right outside the door

  • Buses 3, 12, 53, 53X, 87, 88, 109, 159 and 453 - stop nearby

By Car

Please be aware that Central Hall Westminster is located within the central London Congestion Charge zone. If you are driving there are several public car parks located nearby in:

  • Abingdon Street

  • Horseferry Road

  • Rochester Row

  • Semley Place

There is also public parking adjacent to the building on Tothill Street and Matthew Parker Street. For more parking information, please check Parkopedia.

By Air

Central Hall Westminster is easily accesses from all London airports. Heathrow, Gatwick, City, Stansted, and Luton airports all operate express shuttles and rail services that travel into central London, where you can get to the venue directly or change to another mode of transport.


ACCESSIBILITY

Central Hall Westminster includes a number of accessible features including step-free access, lifts and ramps. Please visit the CHW website for more accessibility details or email us if you have specific requirements.


FOOD AND ON SITE CAFÉ

Wesley’s Café is located on the lower ground level of Central Hall Westminster and is a bright and open location with many options for lunch, cake and snacks during the Yarnporium.

Alternatively, there are many pubs and restaurants nearby or a short walk away.

A note regarding food: CHW has an exclusive catering contract with their food provider. In order to keep to the terms of their contract, please do not bring any food into the venue from outside providers.

TICKETS AND WORKSHOPS

Final Sale / Non-refundable

Ticket and workshop purchases are final sale and non-refundable. You may be able to find someone to take your ticket by listing it in our Ravelry group on our Yarnporium Ticket Swaps thread. Workshop exchanges will other individuals will only be accepted until October 20th to allow us to produce an accurate class list for the teachers and for participants to be able to complete any required homework in advance of the class.

Advance Tickets

A limited number of advance tickets to the Yarnporium marketplace will be available until October 20th, unless they sell out before then. Tickets will only be available on the day at the door afterwards.

Workshop participants have Yarnporium marketplace admission automatically included with their workshop.

Makers Walking the Talk Series

Individual ticket purchases to the Makers Walking the Talk series do not include marketplace admission. A day ticket for the Yarnporium marketplace must be purchased separately.

Workshops

Workshop purchases are final sale and non-refundable. Yarn in the City must be notified of any exchanges with other individuals. Exchanges will only be accepted until October 20th.

Workshop purchases include admission the Yarnporium marketplace on the same day as your workshop only.

Saturday workshop participants will have early access to the Yarnporium from 9am. Unfortunately we are unable to offer this to Friday workshop participants as exhibitors will still be completing set up for the show.

Please check in for your workshop at the Yarnporium information desk 15 minutes before your class.

Saturday Early Access to the Yarnporium

Early access to the Yarnporium on Saturday is for Saturday workshop participants and VIP ticket holders only.
