london craft guide

Since starting The Great London Yarn Crawl in 2013 we get asked a lot about the best places to go for crafty things in London.

Many knitters and crocheters visiting London have also told us that they use the GLYC website to check out profiles of the shops, or plan their own mini-yarn-crawls around the City to check out places that they haven't been before.

Being multi-craftual, we've often sought out or heard about other amazing crafty places to visit that maybe didn't fit in with being part of the GLYC but that we're sure other passionate makers would want to know about.

Knowing that similar guides exist in Paris and Tokyo, it seemed a natural fit to share our joy for London's craft scene with everyone who loves it as much as we do, and anyone who can't make it here in person to participate in the GLYC, or visit these places themselves.

Yarn in the City's London Craft Guide was published in February 2016, and includes profiles of over 40 yarn, sewing and haberdashery shops from across the City including those involved in the GLYC, popular favourites, lesser-known gems, and a few options beyond as well. The book also features patterns for small, portable projects that are perfect for holiday crafting.
