The New Yarn Barons
A panel discussion all about what goes into making a yarn from scratch, whether for an independent yarn company or an indie dyer who wants something a little bit different to dye. Our panelists will chat about the various steps in the process including what it's like to work with mills, choose fibre bases and colours, and more. The panel is made up of Garthenor, Kelbourne Woolens, Triskelion Yarns, and Walcot Yarns.
Your Pattern in Print
All about getting published as a knitwear designer, this panel discussion will cover everything from what magazine editors are looking for, the technical side of things like tech editing and photography, and an established designer's perspective. Our panel guests include tech editor and designer Kate Atherley, independent designer Karie Westermann, and Kate Heppell, editor of Knit Now.
The Story of Laine
Editors Jonna Hietala and Sini Ellen share the story behind the explosive success of their magazine that is unbelievably less than two years old! They'll share how they got started, what is involved in putting each issue together and what their plans are for the future.
